Search
In Calgary, nobody scrolls to page two.
Local SEO for Calgary businesses. That means the map results first — the three listings above everything else — then the technical work on your site, then pages that answer the questions people are typing.

In short
Joelle does local SEO for small businesses in Calgary: optimizing the Google Business Profile that feeds the map pack, fixing the technical issues that hold a site back, building service and location pages for real search terms, and making sure the business name, address and phone number match everywhere online.
What’s included
What you get.
Every project, as standard. Nothing here is an add-on.
01
The map pack first
Three listings sit above every organic result for local searches. Getting into them is Google Business Profile work — categories, services, photos, hours, reviews — and it moves faster than anything else on this list.
02
Reviews, asked for properly
Review count and recency are a direct ranking factor locally. I set up the ask so it happens automatically after a job, not whenever someone remembers.
03
The technical audit
Speed, mobile, broken links, missing titles, pages accidentally hidden from Google. Unglamorous, and often where the easiest wins are sitting.
04
A page per thing you do
One page can only rank for one topic. If you do three services, that's three pages — each written for how people actually search for it.
05
Consistent listings
Your name, address and phone number identical across Google, Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp and the directories. Mismatches quietly suppress local rankings.
06
Reporting without the fog
What you rank for, what changed, what people clicked, and what I'd do next. No 'impressions are up 400%' when the phone isn't ringing.
Usually a good fit for…
- Businesses invisible on the second page for their own service
- Anyone with a Google Business Profile they've never claimed
- Sites that were fast in 2019
- Owners who've been sold SEO before and got a PDF
SEO — questions people ask
How long does SEO take to work?
Google Business Profile work can move the map results within a few weeks. Organic rankings on a new domain realistically take three to six months, and competitive terms take longer. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is selling you something else.
How much does SEO cost in Calgary?
Local agencies typically charge $1,000 to $3,000 a month on retainer. For most small businesses that's more than the work needs — a one-time setup plus a quarterly check-in gets you most of the result. TODO: replace with Joelle's real pricing.
What is the Google map pack?
The block of three local businesses with a map that appears above the normal results when you search something like 'physiotherapist near me'. It gets the majority of the clicks on local searches, and you get in through your Google Business Profile, your reviews, and how close you are to the searcher — not through your website alone.
Do I need to blog to rank?
Not for the sake of it. What works is pages that answer real questions people search before they buy — what something costs, how long it takes, which option suits them. Five of those beat fifty posts about industry news nobody searched for.
Can you guarantee I'll rank number one?
No, and nobody can — Google doesn't sell that and doesn't tell anyone the full formula. What I can do is fix what's demonstrably wrong, build the pages that don't exist yet, and show you the movement month over month.
Let’s talk about your business.
Tell me what you do and what you need. I’ll reply within a day, usually with a couple of questions and a rough idea of cost.
